ABC COO Represents The First Lady of Oyo State at BRECAN 20th Anniversary and 3rd International Breast Cancer Symposium.

Access to Basic medical Care Foundation Chief Operating Officer, Mrs Dolapo Oyedipe represented The First Lady of Oyo state, Her Excellency Dr Mrs Florence Ajimobi at the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) 20th anniversary and her 3rd International Breast Cancer Symposium.

The event was aimed at educating and informing the public, the government, members of the medical community and Breast Cancer advocates on the current situation and what needs to be done by each group towards eradicating this scourge called BREAST CANCER.

The event was also an opportunity to meet and network with people like the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Cierra Sisters Inc Washington, Bridget Hempstead (breast cancer survivor) amongst others.

ABC Attends 3rd Cancer Summit hosted by Cancer Education and Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria (CEAFON)

Access to Basic medical Care Foundation attended the 3rd Cancer Summit at the Shehu Musa Yaradua Centre, Abuja on 3rd & 4th October 2017. The summit which was hosted by Cancer Education and Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria (CEAFON) was themed Funding Cancer Care in Nigeria: The way forward.

The summit featured presentations on cancer management in Nigeria, recent advances in the management of haematological cancers, analysis of cancer care infrastructure in Nigeria in addition to several plenary sessions addressing various aspects of the summit’s theme.

ABC Foundation’s Chief Operating Officer, Mrs Dolapo Oyedipe sat on the panel that addressed the issue of resolving funding challenges in cancer care and helped develop an agenda for the next one year towards overcoming the identified challenges. Also, ABC Foundation and Project Pink Blue (a Lagos based NGO) co-anchored a breakout session for NGO’s that focused on the use of social media to raise funds.

As a fallout from the summit, we laid the foundation for new collaborations that will aid us in achieving our goals and objectives over the next year. We look forward to engaging all potential partners to improve cancer care in Nigeria.
