On Thursday, 28th of April 2016, Oyo State hosted project ‘Future Assured’, a free health initiative of Her Excellency, Mrs. Muhammadu Buhari (Wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria). The project provided screening and necessary treatment for women from all 33 Local Government Areas of the State with a focus on breast and cervical cancer screening, hypertension and diabetes.
Future Assured is designed to spread advocacy for the promotion of the health… of vulnerable and marginalized people in the society and it has previously carried out screening programmes in Calabar (South-South), Katsina (North West ) Adamawa (Northeast ) and Enugu (South East ).
In Ibadan, Oyo State, the ABC Foundation alongside other stakeholders in health care provided relevant services. The Foundation screened over two hundred of Cervical cancer and those tested positive were treated.
